Introduction
SCC offers a number of lower-division general education courses which can be transferred to CCAF or Bachelor Degree programs. Courses offered at the Travis University Center are listed in the schedule of classes. Application and registration information is available on the SCC Home page.Location
The Travis University Center is located in Building 249, Suite 220 at 530 Hickam Avenue on Travis Air Force Base. The phone number is (707) 424-2431 or (707) 863-7878.There is no charge for parking at Travis. You can reach the parking lot by using the following directions:
From the Main Gate: After entering TAFB, continue on Travis Avenue. Turn right on First Street and then left on Waldron. The parking lot driveway is about one quarter mile on your right (about the fourth entry way). Drive to the rear of the parking lot. The University Center is located on your right side.From the North Gate: From Burgin Boulevard, turn right on to Waldron. The parking lot driveway is about one quarter mile on your left. Drive to the rear of the parking lot. The University Center is located on your right side. Tranferability of SCC Credits to CCAF The Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) is a federally-approved higher education program offered by the U.S. Air Force. Accredited by the Southern Association of College and Schools through Air University, CCAF grants two-year Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees in an individual's Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) by combining the technical education offered by Air Force training schools with a core of general education from accredited civilian schools, including Solano Community College.Please click here to view SCC courses that are accepted by CCAF. Due to increased security measures at TAFB, all non-military students must be registered in a class meeting at Travis in order to receive a pass to enter the base. Please allow at least 30 minutes to obtain your pass. Students will be able to obtain their base pass at the Visitor Center located on the left before the main gate.Registered students will be required to present the following documents:
Counseling and Assessment Testing
Both Counseling and Assessment Testing are available at the University Center, but is limited to military personnel, dependents, and civilian base personnel. Testing is done during scheduled dates and times. To obtain the hours for counseling at Travis or schedule an appointment with the counselor, please call (707) 864-7101, or view Travis Assessment Testing Schedule here.Book Purchases Bookstore is not available at Travis. Students taking classes at the Base may order books online from the SCC Bookstore or purchase them at the Fairfield Campus store.Residency Regulations and Tuition Assistance Active duty military and their dependents are granted resident status for fee purposes for the duration of the student's enrollment at a California community college as long as the active duty member is stationed in California.If you are using tuition assistance while you are taking classes, you should go to the Base Education Office at Travis University Center to obtain authorization. Students are encouraged to register for classes with SCC first and then fill out their tuition assistance afterwards. Please allow seven business days for tuition assistance to be processed.
